Over the past three years the management and staff at LGB have worked towards cooperating with  directors of schools in the Kampot district to bring about some change for the better in the standard of schooling in the area.

KISS, one of the many mottos that grabbed me over the years "Keep it simple stupid", is something that I am endeavoring to do on the subject of volunteer teaching. The need for teachers in Cambodia is great and never ending. You do not need to be qualified as you will be working along side English speaking Khmer teachers.

To join the Chumkriel language school program you must stay for a minimum of one month. Classes are held from Monday to Saturday from 5 - 7 pm. It is up to the individual to work extra hours outside of the normal school hours as there is always administrative work to be done and Mr. Sandy, Chumkriel's Western advisor, would be very grateful for your assistance. The teachers also appreciate time spent helping them to improve their own English skills. Chumkriel for the first time entered a soccer team into the local tournament - for all you budding Alex Ferguson out there, they deserately need a player-manager-coach!

The fee for one month per person is USD$500.00.

This includes accommodation, airport pick up from Phnom Penh or boat pick up Sihanoukville and taxi transfer to Kampot as well as transport to and from school, a trip to Bokor Mountain with a sun set river cruise and a trip to Kep. Free use of LGBs bicycles. For those who like to improve their culinary skills and who would like to learn a bit about the local dishes, our head chef Bon Ran and our kitchen staff are happy for you to watch and learn when time permits.
